Whose responsibility is it for snow removal?
All public roads in Chesterfield Township are under the jurisdiction of the Road Commission of Macomb County. Snow removal on all roadways, major, secondary and residential are done by their crews. When there is more than 2 inches accumulation, residential roads are to be cleaned. Township crews are only permitted to assist with snow removal when authorized by the Road Commission and routes are forwarded to the Township Department of Public Works.
