Parks & Recreation - FAQ

Q. Where is Chesterfield Township Parks & Recreation located and what is the best way for me to contact you?

A. We are located in the Chesterfield Township Municipal Offices. Our telephone number is 586-949-0400 ext. 4. Our program cancellation line is 586-949-0400 press 4, then 1.

Q. How and when do I register for programs and events?

A. Our registration hours are Monday-Friday, 8AM-4:30PM. Payment of registration fees will be accepted in cash, check, money order, Visa or MasterCard (on-site only). After hour registration may be mailed to 47275 Sugarbush, Chesterfield, MI 48047 or place in the Drop Box located outside of the Chesterfield Township Municipal Offices (please no cash & credit car numbers in Drop Box or mail). All registration must be on an official form with signature to be processed Click Here. Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Enrollment is limited. Registrations received after a program is filled will be placed on a waiting list and returned to sender. Registration dates can be found in our tri-annual brochure, flyers, news briefs, and at the municipal offices.

Q. Can non-residents register for programs?

A. Yes. Guest registration begins at 8AM on the third day of registration. Effective April 18th, 2005, guests will pay an additional fee equal to $2 per person, per program (excludes amusement park ticket sales). In the case of bus trips, the $2 assessment will be per seat/ticket.

Q. How do I find out about Parks and Recreation programs and events?

A. You can Click Here to view our programs and events. However, brochures for Parks & Recreation programs, activities, and special event listings can also be found at the Chesterfield Township Library and municipal offices. Our tri-annual brochure is also distributed to area schools (public & private). You can also check in various newspapers such as The Bay Voice, The Penny Pincher, The Macomb Daily, Detroit News, and Detroit Free Press. Look in small, out-of-the-way areas in these papers. We also advertise on anchor Bay Schools Channel 6 and Comcast Cable Access Channel 3. You can also call the Parks and Recreation Department directly at 586-949-0400 ext. 4.
