Class Descriptions
Dance at Main
Stage
Adult Combo: Students learn Ballet, Jazz, Polish
Ethnic, Tap, Hip-Hop, and Hawaiian. Class changes
subject every six to eight weeks. Dancewear: Loose
comfortable clothing and dance shoes.
Pre-Progressions 3: Students will work on gross
motor skills, nursery rhymes and specified ballet
1/3 of the year, basic tumbling on mats 1/3 of the
year as well as simplified tap steps 1/3 of the
year. Dancewear: Black leotard, pink tights, pink
ballet slippers, tap shoes during the month of
March, hair worn in a ponytail.
Pre-Progressions 4: Students will learn gross
motor skills, basic ballet steps, counting music and
rhythms 1/3 of the year, basic tumbling on mats1/3
of year, and basic tap steps 1/3 of year. Dancewear:
Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers,
tap shoes during the month of March, hair worn in a
ponytail.
Beginning Tap: In this class students will learn
strengthening and warm up exercises along with basic
tap steps, rhythms, musicality and terminology.
Dancewear: Black leotard, black or tan tights, black
tap shoes, hair worn in a ponytail.
Beginning Ballet: Students learn theory and
terminology, stretching, barre exercises, center
floor work, adage and allegro all geared to the
Cecchetti Metod ballet. Dancewear: Black leotard,
pink tights, pink ballet slippers, hair worn in a
bun.
Beginning Jazz: This class starts with warming up
all areas of the body, stretching, basic jazz steps,
jumps, turns and covers all styles of jazz
including: lyrical, hip-hop and funk.
Dancewear: Black leotard, black or suntan tights,
black slip-on jazz shoes, hair worn in a ponytail.
Hip-Hop: Students will learn jazz warm up,
various styles of hip-hop and combinations.
Dancewear: Black leotard, black or suntan tights,
tennis shoes, hair worn in a ponytail.
Kinderballet: Dancers will learn beginning barre
work, basic ballet steps, center floor work, and
stretching along with ballet terminology. Dancewear:
Pink leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers,
hair worn in a bun.
Kindertap: Tappers will learn basic fundamentals
of tap dance, counting music, rhythms, and combining
steps together to make a routine. Dancewear: Any
solid color leotard, black or suntan tights, black
tap shoes, hair worn in a ponytail.
Kinderjazz: Students will larn warm up which
includes all areas of the body, stretching, basic
jazz steps, various styles of jazz: lyrical, hip-hop
and funk. Dancewear: Black leotard, black or suntan
tights, black jazz shoes, hair worn in a ponytail.
Fitness
at X-treme
Body Boot Camp: Get ready to burn fat, build
muscle and sculpt your entire body with an awesome
and motivating cardio segment including Tae Bo style
aerobics. Sculpt and tone your body into lean muscle
using free weights. Squat, lunge and crunch your way
to a better body. All equipment is provided. This is
a great workout and enjoyable for all fitness levels
and both genders. Bring water to class.
Cycling: A solid "spinning style" workout that
interweaves a variety of speeds and intensities into
this effective program.
Guts & Glutes: This class is packed with
effective exercises for the abs, back, gluts and
legs to tone and strengthen the mid-section and
lower body. Develop core strength and stability in
this fun, but challenging class.
Pilates: A safe & highly effective way to
stretch, strengthen and streamline your body without
building bulk or stressing joints. Bring exercise
mat.
Step Aerobics & Toning: This step aerobics class
is easy to follow, enjoyable, builds muscle and
burns fat all at the same time. Bring exercise mat.
Super Saturdays: This class incorporates full
range toning for upper body and abdominals. Bring
rubber coated, hand-held weights and exercise mat.
Weight Training: Did you know that fat takes up
three times the amount of mass than muscle? Did you
know that you can burn more calories by lifting
weights than by cardio alone? Increase everyday
strength, boost metabolism and build lean, sleek
muscles without the bulk. This no-nonsense, compound
body sculpting class will aid you in building
definition as well as endurance. A great workout for
all levels. Class also discusses diet and other
factors which can play a role in your results.
Hatha Yoga: Uses stretching exercises with
gentle, slow movements to focus on the body, mind,
breathing & posture to improve circulation,
flexibility & stamina.
Vinyasa Yoga: A cardio intensive practice which
links breath and movement in a free flowing
sequence; one breath, one movement. This flowing
sequence of postures strengthens the body, calms the
mind and soothes the spirit. This is an intermediate
level class, prior yoga experience recommended.
Please bring Yoga "sticky" mat to class.
Zumba: Zumba utilizes the principles of fitness
interval training and resistance training to
maximize caloric output, fat burning and total body
toning.
Gymnastics at
American
Tiny Tots: Parent/child interaction with emphasis
on building motor skills such as balance, jumping,
climbing, and social interaction. Teaches basic
gymnastics on low beams, bars and small equipment.
Ages 3 & 4: Children develop basic gymnastic
skills. Emphasis is on coordination, balance and
skill building. All students must be potty-trained.
Ages 5 & 6: Children learn basic gymnastic and
fine motor skills on a variety of small gymnastics
equipment.
Ages 7+: Instruction focuses on all four Olympic
events: Vault, Bars, Beam, and Floor
Horseback
Riding at First Impressions Farm
English Riding Lessons: Riders learn control,
balance and coordination. English lessons are taught
with a smaller saddle, shorter stirrups and two
hands on two reins.
A good beginning horsemanship that prepares the
rider for jumping and dressage.
English Beginner: Those who have never had
English riding lessons
English Advanced Beginner: Those who have had
previous lessons in English riding
Englsh Intermediate: Teaches the rider how to
walk, trot and canter
English Advanced Riding & Jumping: Perfects the
walk, trot, canter and teaches how to jump
Western Riding Lessons: Less strenuous than
English, the Western style rider learns balance and
coordination using a bigger saddle and two reins in
one hand to prepare for gaming and cross country
riding.
Western Beginner: Those who have little or no
experience in Western riding lessons
Western Novice: Perfects the walk, jog and lope
Western Intermediate: Works on training aid and
combined leg and hand cues
Ice
Skating at Suburban Ice
Parent/Tot (Ages 3-5): This class is for skaters
with little or no skating experience. Learn basic
balance and skating skills in a fun, introductory
class with their parent or adult friend.
Participating adults should be able to skate.
Classes also include a 30-minute practice additional
to the ½ hour class time.
Ages 3-5 (No Parents): This class is for skaters
with little or no skating experience. Learn basic
balance and skating skills in an age appropriate
setting. Classes also include a 30-minute practice
additional to the ½ hour class time.
Basic 1 (Ages 6+): All beginner skaters above the
age of six will begin here. Classes cover a wide
range of skating skills from basic forward and
backward skating to more advanced elements and
maneuvers. Skills build on each other as skaters
progress through each level. Classes also include a
30-minute practice additional to the ½ hour class
time.
Adult 1 (Ages 16+): Class designed for the mature
skater interested in learning how to skate. Classes
also include a 30-minute practice additional to the
½ hour class time.
Martial
Arts at Yu’s Academy or Master K’s
TaeKwon Do (Ages 5+): Learn how to defend,
maintain self-control & reduce stress. Beginning
instructional sessions taught by certified
instructors.
Karate (Ages 4-5): This introductory eight-week
session is designed specifically for children ages
4-5 as a positive introduction to the martial
arts. Training touches on basic stances, kicking,
blocking, punching, and self-defense utilizing
self-control while building self-esteem.

Karate (Ages 6-13): This introductory karate
class is designed as a positive introduction to the
martial arts. Training touches on basic stances,
kicking, blocking, balance coordination, and
self-defense utilizing self-control while building

Karate (Ages 14+): Get in shape while learning
karate and self-defense. Work on your own level and
increase focus, balance, control and strength while

Music
Classes at Evola Music
Little Mozarts (Piano): Music for Little Mozarts
was written to provide appropriate piano
instruction. The materials in the course combine to
create an exciting and imaginative atmosphere both
in the lesson and at home. Parent participation
required. Siblings are not permitted in lab.

Kindermusik-Village: This class incorporates the
most current research on your baby’s development
through music and movement. Parent participation
required. Siblings are not permitted in lab.

Kindermusik-Our Time: Our time is a unique
opportunity for parent and child to interact and
learn together. The class reflects the latest
research on music and early childhood development.

Kindermusik-ABC and Me: This class encourages
socialization, sharing, singing, expressive
language, creative play and participation in group
activities. Parent participation required. Siblings

Beginner Piano: This eight-week introductory
class is a great way for children to discover what
it is like to play piano. Students will benefit by
using our "Piano Lab System" which will help them to
focus on learning the basics of playing the piano in
a fun group setting. Material Fee: $7.42 payable at
class.
Beginner Guitar: Choose electric or acoustic
guitar and have fun learning the basics. You will
get started with the mechanics of strumming and
chording on the guitar. Material Fee: $11.61 payable
at class.
Adult Beginner Guitar: Choose electric or
acoustic guitar and have fun learning the basics.

Adult Beginner Piano: An eight week introductory
class utilizing our "Piano Lab System" in a
traditional approach to learning notes and chords in
a fun, easy group setting. Read music to play piano

Learn to Sing: Learn the fundamentals of good
voice technique. This music program requires no
previous musical knowledge. Material Fee: $20.14

Beginner Violin: Experience the fun of musical
activities for the beginner violin. Incorporate the
use of note-reading, rhythm, music symbols, and
ideas from Suzuki violin in a fun atmosphere.

learn to play and read keyboard, or organ music in a
