PROPOSED MINUTES OF THE REGULAR BOARD MEETING

OF

THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF CHESTERFIELD

May 18, 2009

The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lovelock at 7:00 P.M. at the Charter Township of Chesterfield Municipal Offices at 47275 Sugarbush, Chesterfield, MI 48047.

Present: Supervisor Lovelock, Clerk Uglis, Treasurer Hartman

Trustees: Bell, DeMuynck, Ficht, Printz

Also Present: Deputy Clerk Wurmlinger, Township Attorney Seibert

The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Cub Scout Pack #372, Bear Den.

Motion by Ficht, seconded by Hartman to approve: 4A) The consent agenda as submitted with the removal of item 4E). Trustee Ficht requested that this item be considered in the regular agenda, as item B. 4B) Approve the minutes of the Regular Board Meeting of May 4, and the Special Board Meeting of May 11, 2009. 4C) Approve the Payment of Bills as submitted by the Finance Department. 4D) Approve Supervisor’s recommendation to reappoint Jim Priest, Joe Stabile and James Moran to the Planning Commission with their terms expiring June 1, 2012. 4F) Approve setting a Public Hearing for June 1, 2009 at 7 p.m. on an application from Stahls’, LDC, LLC for an Industrial Facilities Tax Exemption Certificate (IFEC) for Real and Personal property. The facility is located at 48300 Structural Drive, Chesterfield, MI 48051. 4G) Approve an Easement Encroachment Agreement for Gregory and Beth Eggert, 53171 Kakos Dr. for a permit for encroachment on a public utility easement to construct an above ground pool, subject to and abiding by comments of the DPW and Building Department. 4H) Approve Treasurer’s Department request to renew annual service and support agreement for Equalizer Internet Services from BS&A Software at a cost of $4,630.00. This agreement is from May 1, 2009 to May 1, 2010. 4I) Approve DPW request to replace portions of the cement sidewalk at the Municipal Building and install two benches with cement bases. The cost of the benches is approximately $800.00 each. 4J) Approve Police Department request to have revisions made to Police Department SOP#5-4.014 – Animal Complain Enforcement, and to print same for distribution to all personnel. 4K) Approve Clerk’s Department request for a massage parlor license renewal for Platinum Skin Care Inc, located at 48774 Gratiot, with an expiration date of May 1, 2010.

Township Clerk and Miss Chesterfield Pageant Coordinator Jan Uglis introduced the 2008 Miss Chesterfield, Ann Marie Stepnak. Ms. Stepnak gave a summary of the past year’s activities for her and fellow court member Brittany Ann Leach and thanked the Township Board for their support of the program.

Clerk Uglis introduced the 2009 Miss Chesterfield, Chelsea Erica Niemi and court member Devin Marie Broaddus.

Motion by Uglis, seconded by Ficht to approve Botsu Luna Fireworks, LLC request to temporarily erect a 30’ x 45’ tent at 50740 Gratiot Ave, for the purpose of selling legal Michigan Class C 1.4g fireworks from June 25, 2009 through July 5, 2009.

Nays: None MOTION CARRIED

Motion by Ficht, seconded by Hartman to postpone until June 1st, 2009 the Supervisor’s recommendation to reappoint Alan Christ, Vince Finazzo, David Joseph, Natalie McPherson, and Patrick Williams to the Parks and Recreation Commission with their terms expiring June 9, 2012.

Nays: None MOTION CARRIED

Richard Tracy addressed the board during Public Comments

Motion by Lovelock, seconded by DeMuynck to adjourn at 7:42P.M.
